Tweetsie Railroad Opens New Christmas Event in Blowing Rock
This year, for the first time, Tweetsie will reopen November 24 for its first ever Tweetsie Christmas.
Students will enjoy a ride on Tweetsie’s Engine No. 12 through the Blue Ridge Mountains decorated by a holiday light display. Other activities include Santa’s Workshop, a Christmas show, caroling, a fire pit and live animals. A photographer will be on hand to record Christmas memories.

Burlington City Park Celebrates Carousel Festival in Burlington
The 30th anniversary of the Burlington Carousel Festival is scheduled for September 16 and 17, is held in Burlington’s City Park.
The centerpiece of the Festival will be the early 20th century Dentzel Menagerie Carousel. Built in Philadelphia, the Carousel is made up of 46 hand-carved wooden animals, including 26 horses, two chariots and ostriches, rabbits, pigs, girraffes, lions, tigers and other animals.

Village Park Christmas This November in Kannapolis
Village Park will be celebrating the first Christmas since the arrival of the 1989 Bertazzon double decker Carousel, the only one of its kind in the State.
The Park’s popular Celebration of Lights runs throughout the month of December. More than 250,000 lights illuminate the park as guests stroll through the park or jump aboard the Winterland Express, an antique C.P. Huntington locomotive pulling passengers on a one-mile loop.

Historic Pullen Park Celebrates Long Time Christmas Event in Raleigh
A triangle tradition returns December 7-10 and December 12-17 as the Holiday Express rolls into Raleigh’s Pullen Park. The Park is transformed into a winter wonderland by thousands of festive lights. Students can enjoy the light show with a ride aboard the Holiday Express, the Park’s C.P. Huntington miniature train, or choose their favorite animal for unlimited rides on the historic Dentzel Carousel. Santa will be there as well.
