Hickory Ridge Living History Museum

Hickory Ridge Living History Museum

The Hickory Ridge Living History Museum on the grounds of the Horn In the West outdoor drama in Boone gives students a glimpse of everyday life for the settlers in the mountains of North Carolina.

Educational programs at Hickory Ridge include tours of the historic buildings on the grounds like the Tatum cabin built in 1785. The Museum creates the atmosphere of a small mountain community shortly after the Revolutionary War. Homes at the time were sparsely furnished but family life with the pioneer spirit created a cozy atmosphere.
