Crystal Coast Lady
NC Coast, Action and Adventure Zoos and Aquariums
Thank you for your interest in a student fieldtrip with Crystal Coast Lady Cruises, the newest and largest cruising vessels in Beaufort, Harkers Island, and New Bern. The M/V Crystal Coast Lady offers the comfort of both enclosed and open air seating on the upper and lower decks, kids steering station, giant bow viewing area, on board restrooms, as well as a full galley/snack bar. It can accommodate up to 149 passengers, and sails from Beaufort. The Lookout Lady, Lookout Lady II, and Shackleford Lady, and Shackleford Lady II eco-tour vessels get up close and personal and can accommodate groups up to 49 passengers per vessel at reduced rates, sailing from Harkers Island and Beaufort. The New Bern Lady can accommodate 26 passengers and sails from New Bern. We can also provide lunches on all excursions for an additional fee.
While aboard the Crystal Coast Lady, or the Shackleford Lady or Shackleford Lady II located in Beaufort, or the Lookout Lady or Lookout Lady II in Harkers Island, your students will enjoy the beauty of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast while experiencing sights such as Cape Lookout National seashore, Shackleford Banks, Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve, North Carolina State Port, Fort Macon State Park, US Coast Guard Station, Duke University Marine Lab on Pivers Island, Blackbeard’s House, Beaufort and Morehead City Waterfronts, Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins, Wild Ponies, Bird Rookeries and many more types of wildlife and historic, notable landmarks. We have five different eco-tour and educational experience options to choose from on these vessels, including Pony and Dolphin tours, Shelling Excursions, Inland Bay Fishing, and our more in-depth Cape Lookout Discovery Voyage Expedition.
On the New Bern Lady, you and your students can experience beautiful and historic New Bern by sea. On these two hour fully narrated tours, you’ll be given an in-depth history of New Bern’s picturesque waterfront, landmarks and attractions, like Tryon Palace and the New Bern History Museum while traveling the Neuse and Trent Rivers. We will travel to Brice’s Creek and Riverbend, where students may see Osprey Nests along with other species of rare birds and wildlife, including possible sightings of deer, otters or alligators (binoculars provided to every student)! Along the way, we will even pull a crab-pot with a local North Carolina commercial fisherman, who will involve the students and discuss the “life of a fisherman.” We’ll also pass “Millionaire’s Row” giving your students an opportunity to see former Governor Bev Perdue’s, Nicholas Sparks’ and many other notable homes along the way.
