History, Arts & Science Come Alive in Elizabeth City

Downtown Elizabeth City is a perfect field trip destination for history, art and science. Here you will find the Museum of the Albemarle, Arts of the Albemarle and Port Discover, a hands-on children’s science center. Museum of the Albemarle introduces students to the rich history of the Albemarle region, including Native Americans, the birthplace of English America, Blackbeard the Pirate and the Wright brothers.

The Museum of Albemarle Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. You can reach the Museum at 252-335-1453 or on the web at www.museumofthealbemarle.com.

Arts of the Albemarle is home to the works of more than 250 artists, craftsmen and photographers. Arts of the Albemarle is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. For more information call 252-338-6455 or visit www.artsoa.com.
